Nils “Rik” Nilsson has been an licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio since 1975 and in Pennsylvania since 1976. He is also a licensed Patent Attorney. Mr. Nilsson earned a BSEE with Honors from The University of Cincinnati, MSEE from The University of Akron and a law degree from the University of Akron School of Law. Mr. Nilsson worked for FirstEnergy Corporation in Akron, Ohio for 32 years rising to become General Plant Electrical Engineer supervising 15 engineers and technicians responsible for power plant electrical design projects and power plant electrical support. In addition, as Principal Engineer in Technical Field Services he provided project support and maintenance and outage support to FirstEnergy Corporation power plants including the R. E. Burger Plant, the W. H. Sammis Plant, the New Castle Plant and the Richland Gas Turbine Plant, in Defiance, Ohio. He also worked at the B. Mansfield Coal Fired Plant in Shippingport, Pennsylvania. Mr. Nilsson has served as a part time Professor at the William Rayen College of Engineering and Technology at Youngstown State University teaching Technical Skills, Electrical Fundamentals, and Power Plant Electrical Equipment. Nils Nilsson is an award winning author of several technical papers.
